Neurodynamics: peripheral nerves and tests
A guide to the upper- and lower-limb peripheral nerves covered by Neurodinamic Atlas. Each nerve brings together its entrapment sites with an anatomical plate and references. Each test describes the starting and end positions and links to the 3D atlas.
Nerves
Upper limb
- Median nerve: carpal tunnel and pronator
- Ulnar nerve: cubital tunnel and Guyon's canal
- Radial nerve: arcade of Frohse and superficial branch
Lower limb
- Sciatic nerve: deep gluteal space and ischial region
- Tibial nerve: soleal arch and tarsal tunnel
- Fibular nerve: fibular neck, ankle and leg
- Femoral nerve: inguinal ligament and iliac compartment
- Saphenous nerve: adductor canal and infrapatellar branch
- Sural nerve: lateral retromalleolar region
- Posterior femoral cutaneous nerve: infragluteal region
- Obturator nerve: obturator canal and adductor planes
Neurodynamic tests
- Median nerve ULNT1: position and sequence
- Radial nerve ULNT2b: start and end positions
- Ulnar nerve ULNT3: start and end positions
- SLR (straight leg raise) test
- SLR with dorsiflexion: tibial and sural nerves
- SLR with plantar flexion and inversion: fibular nerve
- SLR with hip adduction and internal rotation
- Slump test: position and sequence
- PKB: prone knee bend
- Side-lying femoral slump
- Obturator nerve test in side lying
